WILLIAM DUNBAR PUBLIC SCHOOL CATCHMENT AREA?
John Boddy's 'Forestbrook Community' is the hub of this preferred school area with the streets within this development directly surrounding the school. On the East side of the Community is 'New Glendale' which also falls into the catchment area for this school. There are approximately 30 streets in total that show on the school boundary map. Primarily detached homes however a few towns are available on the east side in the 'New Glendale' Community. In and around Fairport Road and Appleview Road you can find unique and executive sized homes/lots as well as some new(er) construction with an array of different builders and some newer/older pockets of construction.
My personal advice is to never rely on guessing when it comes to whether the home you are buying or considering buying is in the catchment area! There are some links below that can help, but I recommend calling the Durham District School Board directly to ensure the information is still correct. Do not rely on any second hand information...always confirm this information yourself! Just as an FYI, many families/children had been asked to leave William Dunbar Public School in past if they do not live in the catchment area. So babysitters or family members who are caring for your children may not be enough.
Currently, William Dunbar Public School is home of the Gifted Program. Again, this is something you will want to call the Board about (Main number 1-905-666-5500).
